Episode #42: Death, distress and the unknown with Joan Prentice, chair yoga & meditation teacher, grandmother & mother of three
Strangely death is the only thing that is certain about our life, and yet it is one of the things we rarely talk about and find incredibly difficult to understand.
In this episode, my guest, Joan Prentice, shares about the devastating time of her life when her son died suddenly, aged 17.
This is a conversation where we honour what happened, and allow Joan to talk about this distressing time of her life that she's rarely talked about.

Joan shares about:
The despair and shock when there was so much that was unknown regarding his death
The importance of seeking help when we need it
The cost of hiding and covering up pain
Finding hope, light and pleasure in the dark times.

Episode #28: Doing life with a doula with Leah Patara
The start, middle and the end. The most important elements in a story, and our human life story.
Yet in Western, white culture they're the phases of life that are rarely discussed, heavily medicalised, and largely override the natural, innate wisdom of our bodies to transition effectively through these life stages.
Women are left on their own to struggle through these transitions, without community or spiritual support or guidance.
This is where the doula, sharing ancient wisdom, practices, and ceremonies, can make a huge difference.
In this episode, I talk with Leah Patara, a Doula, Conscious Conception Meditation teacher, and a creator of sacred spaces, about how she supports women to trust their body, receive nurturing physical, emotional and spiritual support, and get the information they need to honour, revere and celebrate the shifts and changes happening as women experience childbirth, and also death.
Together we explore what it would be like to do life with a doula by our side.
Tune in to hear us explore:
What is the role of a doula?
How can a doula help us in life?
The value in going back and reflecting on our own birth experiences
How a doula can help complete a birth experience, even years later.
The different rites of passage ceremonies that are available
Having a doula in midlife, and what that could look like
Why embodiment is so relevant and important
How our daughters can be our doulas.
How we can help heal sister wounds and the trauma that our ancestors carried.
What’s available when we slow down.
Dealing with death of loved ones, relationships, and our roles and identities.

Episode #27: Men’s sexual appetite and its impact on you with Özlem Peron
Do you know what men want sexually?
Where have you learned about men's sexual desire?
In this conversation with Özlem Peron, Sex & Intimacy Coach, Certified Tantric Yoga & Pranayama Practitioner, and Sacred Sexuality Healer, we talk about common misunderstandings, biological differences, and influences on men's sexual appetite.

Whether or not you're in a sexual relationship with a man, this is the perfect opportunity to appreciate and understand men in a whole new way. You'll discover there are many assumptions that are made about men's sexual appetite, and just how damaging and far from reality they are for many men.

Our assumptions of men and their sexual desires and appetite are not true.

Episode #21: Stripping back the layers with Host, Penny van der Sluys
When I was little, I loved to run around carefree (and mostly nude or in skimpy crocheted bathers) in the sunshine on the beach.
There was nothing to hide. No shame. No fear of being photographed or sexualised.
It wasn't long before that changed, and growing up in the 80s & 90s, a lot of shitty judgement, criticism, stigma and shame that was dished out to young women stuck!
I learned to hide parts of myself, feel shame and worry about how I looked and what men thought of my body, and so much more.
In this solo episode, I share why these layers of conditioning, expectation, protection, and shame are limiting and what's available when you strip them back.
Tune in to hear me peel back another layer and share some of the things that I love and turn me on!
