Feeling joy
This is me channeling Maria from ‘The Sound of Music’ in Salzberg, Austria.
I wasn't dressed in drapes and dancing with the Von Trapp family because I was travelling with Josh.
But lucky for me, Josh was always up for a fun photo opportunity (his favourite was channeling Steve Urwin) and open to a self-guided tour of the movie sights. As budget conscious backpackers, we were not in the slightest bit interested in a cheesy official tour!
When I was first introduced to the movie by a much loved Nanny, I was put off by opening scenes of Nuns singing. I switched it off and it was years before I gave it another go.
I fell totally in love with the joyful music, Maria and her big heart, and the positive messages woven throughout.
At one point, when everything feels overwhelming she remembers that ‘when the Lord closes a door, somewhere he opens a window’.
This has been a positive mantra and reminder for me ever since (although I sub out the Lord for any of the following..the Universe/Goddess/Mother Nature/Spirit/Source).
It's perfect for these current times.
For me it's been the disappointment that comes with more event changes (A Night to Celebrate Radiant Women was sold out for Thursday 22nd July and we've now rescheduled for 5th August), uncertainty (how long will these restrictions last) and frustration (that the actions of a few are impacting so many).
What windows can you open to allow light in? What opportunities are opening up and lead you on a path to experiencing joy?
There's one window that's opening tomorrow.
The opportunity to be part of a Loving Kindness Online Immersion.
Emma Abbott, a divine and gorgeous friend who I absolutely love and have had the pleasure of co-creating with, is going online Monday to Wednesday this week from 6.45am-7.30am, and again at 11am and 2pm.
She'll be offering you a big dose of her special Love & Kindness in the form of guided healing practices including her wonderful meditations, tapping, music playlists and journalling inspiration. Such joy!
To be a part of it, register via email and join the private Facebook group container (all free). .
If you can't join live, the session will be recorded so you can watch them later.
However you're feeling right now, please know you're loved and supported.
You may feel like a door has closed but, I assure you, there are windows for you to open…
