Just breathe
Right now, we need to take a deep breath.
Slow. Gentle. Deep.
To pause.
To use this powerful life force to bring us into the present.
To notice what our breath is telling us.
To use it to pare everything back, stop dwelling in past pain and prophesying a bleak future.
When I think of difficult times, breathing has got me through it.
A drug-free natural birth.
Stress, sad times & sea sickness.
Children melting down, testing tech issues (which may have been you yesterday with Facebook, What's App & Insta dropping out!), and anything to do with our political system.
Even turning on the cold tap to finish a hot, steaming shower in the middle of winter.
The bonus is our breath is always with us.
A phenomenal, simple tool to switch your mood, feel calm and release tension.
Yet its full power and potential is remarkably undervalued and rarely discussed.
After devouring a book called ‘Breath: The New Science of a Lost Art’, and being shocked at how little I knew about the potential for the way we breathe to radically impact our health and wellbeing, I wanted to shine love and light on it BIG time!
So I invited a Radiant Woman Emma Abbott, my divine friend, soul sister, and favourite meditation teacher, to help peel back the layers and uncover the true wonder and magic available when we create a beautiful relationship and understanding of our breath.
You may have heard me rave about Emma before, she's been a feature of many events with me over the years - retreats, Morning rituals celebration, and co-created the online wellbeing platform for Always In Your Corner last year. Emma founded Metta with Emma last year and teaches Veda meditation, runs Women's Circles and creates the most beautiful guided visualisations. .
I'd love you to listen to our conversation in the latest episode where we shine love & light on Our Breath & Breathing. Make sure you're somewhere comfortable as she quickly leads you through some breathing exercises that will calm your nervous system, connect you with your heart and remind you of your innate abilities.
You can find the episode on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts or your fav podcast platform. You can also watch our interview and get more details about the episode on my website's podcast page.
