What does winning look like?

We love playing games in our family.

No power or plugs required.

Minimal equipment needed and everyone can be entertained for hours.

Quick games are a personal favourite, especially if the rules aren't complicated and can be easily outlined and absorbed by friends who join us.

I enjoy the strategy, the mystery, the randomness (who knows what card or dice will turn up), and don't care all that much about the outcome.

I show up, follow the rules and see what unfolds. I'm particularly fond of the few games in our collection that encourage collaboration.

This is in complete contrast to my kids and Josh.

They play to win.

And they get competitive. They're always getting the rule book out, arguing about unfair activity, calling for a vote on the acceptability of a move, and working out ways to get an edge on an opponent.

I don't waste my energy on all the antics. The funny thing is, I often end up being the winner! With no expectations on me, I do a Stephen Bradbury and surprise them with a win. (If you're not familiar with Stephen, he was an Australian speed skater who became the first ever Australian Winter Olympic gold medalist when he cruised over the finish line first after all his opponents jostled each other for the front position and knocked each other out of the competition!).

Josh will have you believe that it's because I grew up an only child and I didn't have to fight for my place in the spotlight - which is true.

Whatever the reason, for me, it's way more fun when I enjoy the journey, embrace the unknown, release attachment to the outcome and celebrate the winner.

I honestly believe that we don't have to fight and come out on top to achieve success (whatever that looks like!).  There's no scarcity of opportunities and resources, but rather the universe provides us all with an abundance of what we all want and need in the world.

If we put our focus onto lifting each other higher, we'll all feel a gazillion times better and all come away feeling like winners.

To help you do just that, I've got a new podcast and a couple of special events that I've co-created with some incredible women to support you to feel amazing and discover your wild, untamed Goddess within.

Come and play with me and let's lift each other higher.
