Mother, thank you!
Lying down, listening to Yoga Nidra, a guided yogic sleep meditation, I was encouraged to let go and surrender.
To release all tension and relax.
To sink into the ground beneath me.
To feel the embrace of Mother Earth.
To remember she’s always there, holding us.
Providing a solid, nourishing foundation on which to grow.
It was reassuring. And a revelation.
Over the past few years, I’ve come to fully appreciate the power of the feminine.
I’ve been reminded we are part of nature and the life cycle.
Mothers are creators of life on earth.
Our biological Mother is our portal into the human body - our first home.
They provide us with a safe haven, a guiding light, and an abundance of opportunity.
They are magical creators of life and love.
We are here because of a long linage of Mothers.
We stand on the shoulders of our ancestors and walk with their energy and wisdom behind us.
Today, on Mothers’ Day, I want to acknowledge and thank all Mothers.
The Mums of human, fur or scale babies
The Mums of the babies didn’t make it earthside,
The Mums to children without a Mother,
The Mothers who have lost their babies
The Foster, Surrogate and Step-Mothers,
The Mothers-to-be and the women that choose not to, or can’t, birth babies but create and birth incredible projects.
Don’t forget, you’re loved and supported by Mothers around the world. And by Mother Earth, she’s always got you.

ps This is a recent selfie with my beautiful Mum, Margie.
I want to thank her for her unwavering, abundant love for me and my children. Acknowledge the career sacrifices she made on my behalf, and appreciate her whole-hearted, caring and progressive approach to parenting. I always felt supported, encouraged and valued and I am incredibly grateful that she’s my Mum.
